The Star Wars: Vader Immortal was revealed at Facebook’s Oculus Connect in San Jose, California. A collaboration between Lucasfilm’s ILMxLAB and Oculus, the much-teased Darth Vader VR project will debut as the launch title for Oculus Quest when it becomes commercially available next year. Created by The Dark Knight screenwriter David S. Goyer, who wrote and executive produced ILMxLAb’s previous “hyper-reality experience” Secrets of the Empire, introduced the Darth Vader experience alongside Vicki Bobbs Beck at the Oculus developer conference.
Three months after Apple landed for development a TV series based on Foundation, the seminal Isaac Asimov science fiction novel trilogy, the project has received a 10-episode straight-to-series order. Foundation, from Skydance Television, David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman, chronicles the thousand year saga of The Foundation, a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it.
NEON and the Russo’s Agbo Films have landed worldwide rights to Sam Levinson’s subversive, stylish modern thriller Assassination Nation which premiered on Sunday night in the Midnight section at Sundance to both audience and critical acclaim. The film is written and directed by Sam Levinson. BRON’s Aaron L. Gilbert produced alongside Kevin Turen, and Foxtail’s Anita Gou. Manu Gargi, Matthew Malek, and Phantom 4’s David S. Goyer also produced. Creative Wealth’s Jason Cloth serves as an Executive Producer, alongside Mike Novogratz, Andy Pollack, David Gendron, Ali Jazayeri, and J.E Moore.
The two-year first-look deal, signed in 2016, pairs Phantom Four with Stuart Ford and Mark Stern’s IM GLOBAL TV, which is looking to expand its slate. For the deal, Goyer is executive producing Dana and Siavash Farahani’s ‘I,REBEL’ under the Phantom Four banner.
Goyer and Josh Friedman will adapt the iconic Isaac Asimov saga for Skydance Television.
